linuxmce.org moved!

Frequent visitors to the LinuxMCE forums may have noticed some server problems in the last 24 hours. This was because our little server took a trip to Fremont, California to a new hosting provider. There were of course some teething problems but they seem to have been fully resolved now.

Update to use the new SchedulesDirect service for MythTV’s Guide Data

A new update is a couple days away that will update LinuxMCE to use the new SchedulesDirect service for MythTV’s Guide Data in the U.S. Your LinuxMCE system will automatically notify you when it’s ready to self-update. If you want to get the update before it’s officially released to confirm that it works ok, add to your /etc/hosts file the line: 72.167.34.81 updates.linuxmce.com. The following day you should receive the notification that the update is available from this, the temporary beta-test server. If the update does not go smoothly please immediately post to this thread, so the update can be fixed before being released. Thanks!

LinuxMCE 1.1 BETA 2 available

LinuxMCE Version 1.1 for Kubuntu Feisty represents a significant change over 1.0. The code in LinuxMCE 1.0 was already quite stable, however, many users reported installation issues, too many scripts inherited from Pluto that took over the conf files, a kludgey integration with Ubuntu, and incomplete integration with MythTV. All these are addressed in the new 1.1.
